The Mexican meteorological service kept data for more than 30 years at numerous stations in Los Tuxtlas,
including Catemaco, San Andres Tuxtla, Santiago Tuxtla, Coyame, Sontecomapan, Los Mangos, etc.

Apparently a budget crunch has closed most of these stations.

The Tuxtlas, because of its terrain features, has several significantly different climate zones. Although
temperature is fairly similar, rainfall swings between extremes.

The table below represents more than 20 years of data from Catemaco, ending in 1990.
The far right column contains rainfall data from Coyame, 6 miles SE of Catemaco, across the laguna.
