The beaches of LosTuxtlas are an undiscovered treasure. Miles of unspoiled beaches, magnificent
vistas and palapa style seafood feasting await the venturous visitor.

The offical Tuxtlas coast runs about 120 kilometers from Punta Puntillas near La Nueva Victoria to Punta
San Juan near Peña Hermosa. Catemaco has 18 km of beach, Mecayapan/Tatahuicapan 31, Pajapan 43,
San Andres Tuxtla 28, and a few more kilometers are in Angel R Cabada.

Rocky outcroppings alter with sand dunes,  punctured with dozens of rivers and arroyos plunging into
the Gulf of Mexico. Touristically unexploited, much of the shore areas have been mulilated with cattle
fencing and only isolated spots maintain original vegetation. Nevertheless, the beach are a paradise for
beachcombers.
