This is not an altruistic site. I hope it helps my partner sell more Catemaco real estate.
I am not Mexican nor "Estadounidiense" although my passport says the latter. But I definitely am Gringo in
the Mexican sense of applying that word to anyone non Latin and not native.
Born in Europe, I first arrived in Mexico from Miami, Florida in 1962 to attend Mexico City College in
Mexico City, which is now the University of the Americas. Afterwards I lived on several different
continents. Many years later I lived in Baja California for several years, and ultimately decided to retire to
Catemaco at the end of 2002.
Before I decided to move to Catemaco, I studied Los Tuxtlas in depth and maintained a list of internet
references. Since actually moving here, that list has expanded. This web site is essentially a way for me
to maintain a public file cabinet. When or if it will be filled - ¿quien sabe?
Plagiarization is ongoing. Usually a reference is included on the page or its related links. If not, it is in the
process of being added.
