The double whammy of torrential rains before and after Hurricane Stan have effectively cut Catemaco´s
connection to the south. The major problem is between Covarrubias and Acayucan. The road from Isla to
Santiago was flooded for a while, but is passable now. Catemaco to Veracruz is open now after
repairing assorted washouts.
