rio guazinapan?
Driving around Laguna Catemaco during the dry season makes one wonder where all that water in the
laguna comes from. There are a dozen rios that feed into it, but except for two they are mostly piddling
drivels in the dry season, and even the bigger ones question the term "Rio".
But come the middle of June water flow picks up, and sleepy arroyos turn into menacing road eaters.
The section of Catemaco to Coyame is virtually bereft of streams. In Catemaco the water has been
channelized to run down main streets, and the remainding area seems to absorb its water by
percolation. Most rio activity is in the Coyame to La Victoria area. There - two substantial streams coming
fom the Santa Marta´s support a small swamp, a car wash and swimming facilities.
