Lago Ampopal, aka Lago de Pompal, is a tiny, shallow, possibly volcanic lake, very heavily
sedimented with quicksand-like muck at its edges, but lovely to look at.

We visited early June, at the end of the dry season. Surrounding trails were manageable for
both preteens and older folks.
