Ángel R. Cabada is a municipio in central Veracruz state, east central
Mexico, south of the port of Veracruz, along the Gulf of Mexico.

The
municipio was created in 1931 and named after Angel Rosario Cabada
(1872-1921), a local agrarian leader.

Finds from a pre-hispanic settlement at El Mesón are displayed on the
town square, including a stela inscribed with one of the oldest dates in
the hemisphere.

Geographically, the 2 small rivers of Canes and Tecolapan cross the
terrain. Laguna Majahual near the coast is one of several small lagoons in
the area.

Highway 180 from Veraruz to Veracruz is the main artery, with a spur at El
Tropico leading to the Gulf coast and Catemaco, via Montepio.
